Mining and earthmoving assets operate under constant assault: abrasive contaminants, shock loading, pressure spikes, heat, chemicals, and corrosion. When seals wear prematurely or lose integrity, the results are familiar – fluid leakage, accelerated component wear, higher maintenance effort, and unplanned downtime. In many operations, the knock-on effects also include environmental risk from escaped fluids and higher safety exposure during reactive repairs.
Off-the-shelf supply, plus engineered sealing when needed
Motion supports customers with two complementary pathways. For routine maintenance and planned change-outs, teams can supply stock sealing products and seal kits for mobile equipment and fixed plant applications. Where failures persist – or equipment geometry and operating conditions push beyond standard designs – Motion’s specialist machining capability can engineer sealing upgrades for specific applications, including complex rotary applications and heavy-duty equipment interfaces.
Materials access that helps customers meet specification
As operators tighten standards for critical sealing points, material selection is increasingly part of the specification conversation. Motion can support customers seeking Freudenberg materials, including the AU 30000 polyurethane that is increasingly being specified in heavy-duty cylinder and mobile equipment applications. With major miners beginning to nominate AU 30000 as a preferred option, access to Freudenberg material helps customers standardise performance expectations across sites and avoid ‘process of elimination’ issues during vendor selection.
A site-service model built around outcomes
Rather than treating sealing as a ‘part number’ problem, Motion can support a full lifecycle approach. Site service engineers can review failing applications, assess fit and operating conditions, take measurements, and recommend a redesigned solution. From there, sealing specialists can progress through design, manufacture, installation support and follow-up – refining the solution if performance data indicates further optimisation is required.
